Milkshake is a wonderful summer treat that is quick and easy to make. White chocolate and mint, summer strawberries, or a cheesecake shake? Find your new favorite among these five recipes!
Charming white chocolate-mint milkshake
This creamy shake gets a fresh twist from mint. You will need mint ice cream, white chocolate, and a small splash of milk (dairy, oat, or almond milk).
- Start by melting 100 g of white chocolate in a double boiler or a microwave.
- Let the chocolate cool and pour it into the bottom of the glass. If you like, you can drizzle some along the sides for decoration.
- Blend the mint ice cream in a blender or with a hand blender until smooth. If you prefer a shake with more texture, don't over-blend.
- Add 0.5 dl of milk or oat milk and mix.
- Pour the mixture into the glass and garnish with whipped cream and grated chocolate. Finish with a mint leaf and serve ice cold.
Mouthwatering Oreo cheesecake milkshake
This shake is for the cheesecake fans! You will need a pack of Oreo cookies, vanilla or chocolate ice cream, milk (dairy, oat, or almond), and 3 tablespoons of cream cheese. You can also use flavored cream cheese.
- Start by blending 2 dl of milk and 3 tbsp of cream cheese together until smooth. You can use more milk if desired.
- Add 2.5 dl of ice cream to the mixture.
- Crush a handful of Oreos in a bag and pour them into the mix. Blend.
- Pour into a glass and decorate with whipped cream and Oreos. Enjoy!
Tip: You can customize the cheesecake shake with strawberries by adding a handful of fresh strawberries or using strawberry ice cream.
Classic vanilla milkshake
Vanilla is a favorite for many, but it can be taken to a whole new level simply by using high-quality ingredients. You will need real vanilla ice cream, whole milk (or oat/almond milk), and vanilla extract or vanilla sugar (not vanillin sugar!).
- Blend 4 dl of vanilla ice cream and 2 dl of your chosen milk until smooth.
- Add half a teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla sugar.
- Let the shake chill in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes before serving if it warmed up during blending.
- Garnish with whipped cream and cookie crumbs.
Tip: Brighten it up with colorful decorations like sprinkles, dessert syrups, chocolate sauce, or fresh berries for extra freshness.
Dreamy chocolate milkshake
You can't go wrong with chocolate! The final result depends on your choice of chocolate: use dark chocolate for a rich flavor or milk chocolate for something lighter. Combining both creates a rich, creamy balance. You will need 100 g of chocolate, chocolate ice cream (chocolate chip flavors work great), and whole milk or oat milk.
- Blend 2 dl of milk and 4 dl of ice cream until smooth.
- Melt half of the chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler.
- Pour the cooled chocolate into the shake.
- Drizzle the rest of the chocolate along the inside of the glass and save some for the top.
- Pour the shake into the glass and garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
- Grate chocolate over the top or tuck chocolate pieces into the whipped cream.
Tip: Create a "triple chocolate" version by mixing dark, milk, and white chocolate! Fruit and berries such as cherries also pair perfectly with chocolate.
Summer strawberry milkshake
Summer strawberries make for an incredible shake that is truly "to die for." You will need vanilla or strawberry ice cream, strawberries (500 g is plenty), sugar, vanilla extract or vanilla sugar, and your choice of milk.
- Hull the strawberries and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar over them.
- Let them sit in the fridge for a moment to get juicy.
- Blend 4–5 dl of ice cream, the strawberries, 1 dl of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla sugar until smooth.
- Add more milk to reach your preferred consistency.
- Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream, and garnish with fresh strawberries!
