Avara has decided to eliminate security deposits starting January 1, 2025.
This change makes moving into an Avara apartment more straightforward and hassle-free, as security deposits will no longer be charged for new lease agreements.
The zero-deposit policy applies only to new lease agreements with a start date on or after January 1, 2025. In some cases, the need for a security deposit will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, for example, if the applicant has entries in their credit record.
Security deposits paid for lease agreements that commenced before January 1, 2025, will be refunded upon lease termination and the resident's move-out.
A refund of the deposit requires that the tenancy has proceeded without issues. This means that all rent and potential additional fees have been paid, the apartment has been adequately cleaned, and all keys have been returned.
The deposit will not be refunded during an ongoing lease term.
